We made this quilt in 2019 for Jesse. These are made from t-shirts from his favorite Christian rock bands. Maybe you’ve heard of them: Demon Hunter; Impending Doom; War of Ages; Leaders, Convictions, Norma Jean, The Burial; The Showdown; As Hell Retreats and My Children My Bride.

This style is Masonry. He came back because 5 years later he has more shirts that he wants to add on but doesn’t want to make the overall quilt larger. We can do this!

The plan is that a few smaller pieces will go in the border. We’ll also make room for a bandana and a few other shirts that we’ll squeeze in to the gaps. There will be a little overlap in some cases, but in the end everything will fit and it won’t be super noticeable.

The all over original quilting is crosses. We’ll add that on to the larger “new” pieces to best secure them.

They don’t come back too often. But when they do, it’s cool to look over the quilts we’ve done in the past and see how they’re holding up. This ones been “well loved” and over time the feel is so soft. The border is premium quilting cotton. The back is black premium quilting fabric called minky. Now, five years later, everything is intact and the softness feels so good to the touch.

It’s craftsmanship that lasts, just like a timeless hit from your favorite band. 🎶
