Adding Shirts to a Finished Quilt

Jesse came in asking if we can add some more shirts to a quilt we finished for him 4 years ago. He’s a huge fan of the band Demon Hunter. So we cut the new shirts close to the graphics, placed them on the quilt following his ideas and this is where we are. He’s approved this look. So we will sew the new shirts on to the existing quilt. They’re on the top center between the horns.

Once sewn, he’s got the newer pieces added on to his existing work. It was great to see him again and know he was doing ok and that his health is ok. The big plus is that the quilt is in perfect condition. There were no repairs or loose stitches or anything to fix. We’re going for quality and want it to last you a long time and after 4 years, this was real nice to see!

Yes, you can add shirts even after the quilt is finished. The look just may not be exactly the same as the original. In this case, we won’t be adding the cross quilting back in because it wouldn’t exactly match up with what already there, but he is ok with this. Also, when we do this, the stitching may show on the back, but we’ll make it look good! So, think of us if you have more shirts you’d like to add to a quilt.
