Important Care Information

All products from Just T-Shirt Quilts, LLC are handcrafted using customer-provided
garments and approved fabrics and materials. Proper care is essential to preserve your quilt.

Recommended Care Instructions

These are for a quilt with a cotton, cotton polyester, or minky polyester back.

  • Machine wash cold, gentle cycle
  • Use a large non-agitating washing machine that will comfortably fit the quilt. 
  • Use mild detergent
  • Wash alone 
  • Do not bleach
  • Do not use fabric softener
  • Wash infrequently
  • Air dry recommended
  • Low heat only if machine drying. Lower heat for a longer time is better than high heat for a short time. 
  • Remove from dryer when still slightly damp, lay flat on a clean surface and hand press to smooth out any wrinkles. Leave flat or hang on a line to finish drying.
  • Dry cleaning ordinarily is not necessary.  Check with your trusted provider on their process if you decide to go this route   High heat and dry cleaning chemicals may may cause shrinkage, fading, or damage, especially with older garments, screen printing, vinyl, polyester backings.
  • Vacuum lint and pet hair as needed.

No Guarantee Against Wear

We have taken great care to create quality for you and trust you will receive many years of use from your quilt.  If, however, you feel something needs additional attention, please reach out to us within 6 months of receiving your quilt. 

Normal wear over time is expected and is not considered a defect. Supervise your quilt around pets as we have done several repairs where they have chewed holes into quilts. Avoid stress from pulling and tugging on your quilt.  It is fine to use outside. Check ground surfaces for anything that may permanently damage your quilt before you lay it down.
