comcast rise

Comcast Rise

We’re thrilled to be a recipient of the Comcast RISE program. This award has helped immensely in our quest to become paperless, and also increase efficiency in our business operations. Not to mention going paperless is good for the environment! If you are or know a minority small business owner, applications are being accepted beginning March 1 for additional awards through the Investment Fund. https://www.comcastrise.com/investment-fund/ Thanks Comcast for helping to fight injustice and inequality against any race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation or ability.

Duvet Conversion

Martha is a detailing expert and great hand sewer. With her years of experience she’s able to tackle virtually anything needed in the quilting arena. Here she’s putting the finishing touches on a duvet-quilt conversion. Happy to say it’s the second conversion and 4th quilt we’ve done for this customer. The existing floral lilac embroidery was preserved with the quilting in white added around it. The look is very elegant and formal. No t-shirts, but we can do this, too!

T-Shirt Quilting

The work of this group is incredible and it’s an honor to be invited to Zoom with quilters. This is geared to those that make their own quilts but anyone is welcome to attend. More awesomeness: https://bssquiltguild.com/gallery/ I love the one of the little girl hula hooping!

Dear Old Morehouse

Donovan’s graduation present includes a lot of Morehouse college memories: a backpack, lots of pictures, a jacket, a hat, a lanyard in the lower left corner. His school sweater — he can still wear it, just in a different way! The quilting is a custom M design that represents the school. Donovan is also a photographer so we were able to incorporate some cameras in the quilting too! All in all a very unique and special gift for a very unique and special person.

A Quilty Christmas

It was a quilty Christmas surprise for daughter Sage. We worked closely with Mom, Cindy, to create a meaningful gift that Sage would like with all of her special shirts. The style is Masonry. The quilting is a loopy pattern. The fabric on the border imparts words of hope and encouragement. A special quilt with special thoughts behind it to provide lots of hugs and support even when apart.

Mary at the High

Hats off to Mary Northcutt, quilter and educator.  Two of her beautiful quilts were accepted in to the Georgia Art Education Association teacher exhibition at the High Museum.  Mary designs and hand pieces (sews) all of her beautiful work.  We were selected to provide the long arm quilting for several of her masterpieces such as her pinwheel quilt quilted in peaches. Awesome  job  Mary !

Wedding Ring Quilt

During quarantine you may have uncovered some treasures in the form of old quilts like this one. This is a vintage wedding ring quilt, so called because of the interlocking rings. If the quilt could talk it may have stories to tell about an engagement, a couple, a wedding and this special gift for the special occasion. This one was sent to us by an artist who inherited it from her Mom. We’re calling this a “Block Beauty” as we quilted it using existing digital block-based quilting patterns imparting a faux custom quilting look. The thread is lavender and the binding (outermost edge) will match, complementing the lavender fabric in the “piecing”, sewing of smaller pieces to make the rings.

No t-shirts here, but we can do this, too, and help you get some quilts in need of finishing off your bucket list. Check out Long Arm Quilting for an estimate. If you are looking to finish for the holidays early is a good idea. We’re currently scheduled a month out. It’s early, but holiday orders by 10/1/2020 would be great.

Seaside

Margaret recently visited her favorite vacation spot, Seaside Beach, Florida. She’s a former hotel decor buyer and designer. This was her own variation of our Blocky, but with rectangles instead of squares. It doesn’t have to be big to be fabulous! Thanks for the picture Margaret.

It’s Freestyle

This is Abey. She graduated cum laude from Lee University. Mom and I worked together remotely to create her special Freestyle quilt in colors she likes to match her bedroom decor. We did it safely and from a distance and mailed the finished masterpiece in time for her special day. Congratulations graduates on your accomplishments. There is no need to come in. Let’s get started! 678-324-8084.
